The Bristol Independence Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. In partnership with the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, the half marathon will follow the beautiful downtown streets of America’s quintessential community when it is decked out in its finest – during the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America. The course includes incredible historic homes, a town common and the America’s Cup Museum before heading out along the scenic coastline, through Roger Williams University and finishing along the water at Independence Park. ***New – a Two Person Relay has been added to this event. Register as a team, with the first leg being 7.5 miles, an exchange at Roger Williams University, and a second leg completing the 5.6 mile distance. All Male, All Female or Co-Ed teams are offered.

The festivities start at 11AM on Friday, with an outdoor cookout courtesty of the Rotary Club. The 2025 parade kicks off at 2PM at Alpine Village Resort, and travels to Lincoln Town Hall - The parade is open to all, so just show up and be part of the fun! Plus a bonus for Kids: All children under 12 who participate in the parade will receive a FREE patriotic goodie bag as a special thank-you for joining in the festivities! On Friday 7PM and Saturday 6:30PM enjoy a free concert at the gazebo in Solider's Park. Fireworks this year will be on Saturday evening at dusk.

The Fourth of July Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. and will step off at the corner of Chestnut Street and Hope Street (Rt. 114) and ends on High Street, between State Street and Bradford Street. Hope Street (Rt. 114) will be closed off beginning at 8:00 a.m., including Poppasquash Road. Beginning at 7:00 a.m., Chestnut Street, Naomi Street, and Sherry Avenue will be closed to traffic. A parking ban along the parade route goes into effect the night before the parade.

Stowe's Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration 2025

Enjoy a full day of festivities and food – great eats from an array of food vendors, entertainment for the whole family, and live musical performances on the Village green. At 11 a.m. the world’s shortest marathon will be held in honor of USMC Lt. Ryan Casey. Grab your running shoes and lineup at the entrance to the Stowe Recreation Path to race for the finish line. Then get ready to see this year’s Grand Marshal lead a fantastic display of floats from 12 – 1 p.m. At 6 p.m. head down to the Mayo Fields for one of Vermont’s best and largest displays of fireworks starting at dusk!
