With more than 650,000 LED lights woven through 14 acres of central gardens, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens takes its dramatic display of brilliant color to new heights. Visitors pass through an ethereal corridor of dancing lights evoking the aurora borealis before entering a festively lit wonderland. In addition to dramatic lighting, enjoy music, snacks, hot chocolate and holiday shopping in the garden shop. Shuttle buses will run continuously, beginning at 4 p.m., from the municipal lot in Boothbay Harbor.

Festival of Trees After Dark 2018

During Christmastime the Christmas tree farm is filled with a festive bustling at two gift shops, where you can choose your Christmas tree and buy hand-made wreaths. Horse-drawn wagon rides around the historic property are offered 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on. The Rocks’ own version of Father Christmas will be at the farm Saturdays. Hot drinks, soups, chili, and more foods will be available for purchase

From forested trails of twinkling lights to visits with Santa and his reindeer, there’s magic at L.L. Bean this Christmas. Discovery Forest. Follow the path through a forest of twinkling lights and a giant Christmas tree. Stop in to the warming hut – a 30-foot yurt! Visits with Santa are Fridays, 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. See Santa’s reindeer -- real ones that grew up in Maine -- ad a model train village. The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House will be decorated and open daily for tours, except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, through January 1, 2019. Rosecliff will open on December 2 for tours and visits.
Santa Sundays. Santa will visit the houses on Sunday afternoons. Noon-3 p.m. Schedule is December 2 at The Breakers, December 9 at Marble House, December 16 at The Elms.
Holiday Evenings at the Newport Mansions. Enjoy holiday music and light refreshments as you stroll through softly lit rooms. Dates: November 24, December 1, 8, 22 & 29. 6-8 p.m. The Holiday Evening Duet happens at The Elms and Marble House on December 15. 6-9 p.m.
Holiday Dinner Dance. The evening includes a cocktail hour on the loggia, a three-course seated dinner in the Great Hall, and dancing in the Music Room. Black tie, valet parking. Reservations required. December 15. 7 p.m.
Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff. Island Moving Co.'s performers move through the spectacular setting of Newport's most romantic mansion. November 23-25 and November 27-30. Mansions open daily, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Blink! Light & Sound Show 2018

A new Holiday Blink! show will light up the Faneuil Hall Marketplace with 350,000 lights every evening for five weeks. An 85-foot fir tree adorned with decorations and sparkling lights synchronized to music to provide entertainment for visitors and shoppers.
