The annual running of The Mark Palumbo Memorial University Orthopedics 5K is once again benefitting The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children's Hospital. The 51st annual Norman Bird Sanctuary's old-fashioned Harvest Fair will once again usher in Autumn in 2025. Spanning over 60 years of Ralph Steadman’s influential and lauded career, the exhibition fills the museum’s upper and lower galleries with more than 140 original artworks and ephemera, including sketchbooks, handwritten notes, and personal photographs. Steadman is best known for his long collaboration with Hunter S. Thompson, notably illustrating 1971’s "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream," a partnership that defined Gonzo journalism, a style of reporting that blends personal experience with political commentary. Interactive resources in the exhibition will encourage visitors to look deeply and make connections between works.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is thrilled to announce a generous donation from The Design Initiative Inc., an architecture practice deeply committed to designing spaces and supporting organizations that strengthen our community. Over the course of three days, participants will develop core competencies in tree and shrub identification, explore the ecological processes that shape forest dynamics, and become familiar with a range of landowner goals and forest management approaches—from enhancing wildlife habitat to managing for timber or leaving land “forever wild.” Each module builds upon the last, ensuring participants leave with a well-rounded introduction to the science, values, and techniques behind responsible forest stewardship. The final day focuses on connecting participants with the resources and support available to bring their goals to life. Attendees will learn about technical and financial assistance programs and get some hands-on experience with the tools of management. Whether participants are caring for family woodlands or stewarding community resources, this intensive will help them move toward their goals with greater confidence and clarity.

🦋 Monarch Caterpillar Count at Pemi Oxbow Preserve
Help track monarch populations this summer as part of the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project! Every Monday morning through August, we’ll meet at the Pemi Oxbow Preserve to search for and count monarch caterpillars and eggs in our milkweed-filled study plot.

Your observations will contribute to national data, helping scientists understand the status of monarchs across the country.

The Green Mountain Audubon Society returns to beautiful Cold Hollow Sculpture Park to observe birds before many depart our region for warmer climes. Participants will explore the trails in search of different species while also having the opportunity to appreciate the spectacular work of world-renowned artist David Stromeyer. Stories Alive Homeschool Program venture into the past using books as the time machine! Each day of this class begins with a lively picture book about an amazing individual or historical event, which sets the scene for expeditions through Strawbery Banke’s gardens, houses, and grounds. Kids will activate their imaginations by meeting role players, playing games, and making historical crafts. Activities will include examining fossils, science experiments, simulation games, and more! Campers will bring home their picture book filled with artwork, recipes, and great memories at the end of this action-packed series of classes. Designed for ages 5–8.

Think you could live like an 18th-century kid? Step back in time with our week-long Revolutionary War camp in Lexington! Each day, rising 3rd–6th graders will explore historic sites, create colonial crafts, and play games from the 1700s.
