Local winery offers delightful wares as well as fun tours and tasting areas

They are handcrafting marvelous wines over at the Seven Birches Winery, and you can see exactly how they do it. Take the Meet the Winemakers Winery Tour, talk to a winemaker and see how local fruits and European grape varietals are transformed into a variety of delightful wines. The winery, inside the gorgeous new Riverwalk Resort at Loon Martin, is also a lovely place to sit and sip a glass or special flight inside the tasting room or, in summer, on a patio overlooking the river. At the nearby Atrium Wine Bar in the Lincoln Village Shops, enjoy a glass inside or on the patio in the summer. A friendly staff will help you choose off a wine menu.

At the Seven Birches Winery in the RiverWalk Resort, they are crafting more than a delightful assortment of wines. They are also producing the freshest ciders under the Rhythm Cider brand. The ciders, fermented with only premium, locally sourced fruits, are served in the winery Tasting Room, on regular tours of the production facility, and in the brand new Rhythm Tap & Grille, where you can sip delicious cider while taking in breathtaking views of the Pemigewasset River, overlooking the White Mountains. On the tour, you can meet with the people right on site who actually make the wines and ciders that you are trying. It’s a very special insiders’ look, and you’ll leave with some new favorites — and a souvenir glass.

Paradise Hills Vineyard is owned and operated by the Ruggiero family, offering a cozy, Tuscan-style tasting room with views overlooking the vineyard. Some of the varietals grown here include Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Vignoles, Chambourcin, Tramenet and Cayuga. They serve charcuterie platters as well.

The old world meets the new at Gouveia Vineyards, founded in 1999 by Joe Gouveia, originally from a rural village in the hills of Portugal. Their wine tasting room boasts incredible hilltop views and a rustic, cozy atmosphere. They grow 17 grape varietals, all hand-picked, and produce a selection of reds and whites.
