Holiday Exhibition and Sale – Brookfield Now through December 31, 2009 Find unique handmade gifts of lasting value made by American artists while you explore three floors of a charming restored grist mill overlooking a river and waterfall. Holiday Selections 2009 -- Providence Now through December 23, 2009 For the holiday season, Bert Gallery has assembled a fine selection of artwork by local artists, both past and present. Many of the paintings are by noted Providence painters from the late 19th century. In addition, there is a special exhibit of vintage artist greeting cards for sale. Holiday Festivities in Colonial America -- Wethersfield Now through November 29, 2009 This year, celebrate Thanksgiving traditions throughout the month of November as Thanksgiving at the Silas Deane House opens at the Webb- Deane-Stevens Museum in Wethersfield. This annual exhibit allows visitors to experience the holiday in 18th-century Connecticut - the first colony to make the holiday an annual observance.

Festival of Trees -- Pittsfield Now through January 3, 2010 People from across the Berkshires have decorated scores of trees, inspired by the theme Silver Bells. The traditional Silver Bells theme rings with nostalgia, as do companion exhibitions of historical photographs of downtown Pittsfield in the late 1800s and selections from the Museum’s collection of antique silver decorative arts. Three Houses Open Daily
The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House will be decorated and open daily for tours, except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. A Winter Passport ticket providing daytime admission to all three houses can be purchased for $28 for adults, $9 for children age 6-17.
Visits with Santa Claus
Children can visit with Santa Claus in a spectacular setting at each of the three mansions on Sundays in December. Santa will make public appearances at The Breakers on December 6 from noon to 3 p.m.; at Marble House on December 13, and The Elms on December 20.
Holiday Evenings at the Newport Mansions
This event is a special opportunity to see these historic houses lit up for a nightime celebration. Guests can take a leisurely self-guided tour through the mansion, enjoying live holiday music and a stop for cookies and pastries, eggnog and cider. Holiday Evenings at The Breakers are scheduled for November 28 and December 5, 12 and 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Frozen Turkey Hunt – Boothbay November 21, 2009 During the Frozen Turkey Hunt, a Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens tradition, children search for apples, many of which win prizes including frozen turkeys. Festival of Wreaths – Nantucket November 25, 2009 to November 29, 2009 The Festival of Wreaths marks the start of Nantucket’s winter holiday season. There will be traditional German and American Christmas music, "Kurrende Singers," many costumed events, Saengerbund Dancers, visits from the Three Wise Men, St. Nikolaus and his helper Hans Muff and much more. Snowflakes and festive art at the Currier -- Manchester December 3, 2009 The Currier Museum of Art celebrates the holidays with the sounds of the season with a open house. The Granite State Ringers, a handbell choir, and Renaissance guitarist Jack Nailor will perform in the museum. New Year’s Eve Sardine and Maple Leaf Drop -- Eastport December 31, 2009 The small city of Eastport shares a bay with New Brunswick, Canada, and rings in the Canadian New Year before toasting the American occasion. A giant maple leaf and an 8-foot long wooden sardine descend from the window of a downtown building at 11 p.m. and midnight local time.
