Snowmobiling in Vermont is one of the most popular winter sports

The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) maintains and regulates the trail system throughout the state. There are over 5,000 miles of trails through mountains, meadows, and along waterways. The VAST system marks trails and issues printed maps that also help you locate trailheads. Services along the system such as fuel and food locations are also noted. To snowmobile in Vermont you need a trail pass and valid state registration. Check the VAST website for additional information. Opening day for the trails is December 19, 2005.
